“I’m Louise, owner of Mandala Birthing in Leicestershire and cover the Midlands area. I have been a Placenta Remedies Specialist for just over a year now. This was a big change for me as I come from an Engineering background, but since finding Kundalini yoga 3 years ago I am now exploring a more holistic career and for the first time in my life have immense job satisfaction. I love supporting new mothers and birthing parents in a professional and caring manner.
It’s been quite a rollercoaster of a year, I have hosted a placenta presentation to the Doula association, I host regular placenta talks at pre-pregnancy yoga classes and have exhibited at various mother and baby events.
Some of the highlights of my year have been being awarded a 5-star hygiene rating from Environmental Health (E.H.). Environmental Health is the branch of public health concerned with all aspects of the natural and built environment affecting human health. As you consume your placenta, my business has to be registered with E.H. to protect the clients I work with. My workspace is a very sterile environment and I handle each placenta with the utmost care and hygiene standards and to have this recognised by E.H. is extremely rewarding.
I have also been fortunate enough to be awarded Best Placenta Remedies Specialist for Central England by the Prestige Awards and Placenta Remedies Expert Leicestershire by the SME awards. The judges were impressed with my personal touch, passion for what I do and the community feel that is present on my social media pages. It’s extra special to know my hard work and positivity is paying off and who knows, these achievements may lead to more future success.
To date, I have been fortunate enough to support over 80 clients encapsulating their placentas and offering various other placenta remedies. It was a slow start in 2021 due to Covid, but business has picked up and is growing from strength to strength. I find my job so rewarding, I love meeting mums and birthing parents to be and their families. Sometimes I’m lucky enough to meet baby when I return the capsules or collect from a home birth. This is such a special moment, and I am blessed that I’m able to share this special time with the family.

I just want to say a massive thank you to you, I couldn’t believe you were with me collecting my placenta actually an hour after it was delivered. I have had two previous births neither did I choose to have my placenta encapsulated. This recovery has both physically and mentally been my best yet. I had a change in provider at the end of my pregnancy and knew nothing about who was taking over the encapsulation of my placenta. I had to trust Louise and her services, and I was so impressed. My midwife and Louise handled everything smoothly and without hassling my partner and I as we were still in theatre. I received the capsules 2 days later and was amazed at the secure packaging, beautiful jar, note, colours and the beautiful cord keepsake! I have noticed a benefit taking the capsules and no signs of PND which I am high risk for. Louise’s efficiency, clear communication with the hospital staff, friendliness and kind words after my birth were all spectacular; I cannot recommend this service enough!
